Once a year I do a project called ‘100 Poems In A Day’, where I write 100 Poems between 9am and midnight, using titles suggested by you. Not literally you, (that would be weird) ‘you’ the public. It was great fun, a bit surreal, and often rude. You should read the poems I wrote by clicking here. No need to read all 100 – just pick a title you like from the sidebar, or dive in at random. Let me know what you think.

It was the fourth year I’ve done 100 Poems In A Day, and if I’m honest, I think I get worse every year. Maybe my critical faculties are just improving. Still, it’s not about quality, it’s about drawing attention away from the dying medium of poetry and onto me. By that metric, it was still a failure, albeit one with laudable goals.

Speaking of failure with laudable goals, some of you may have just finished NaNoWriMo. Or you might be working on a novel just because you hate yourself and it serves as a wonderfully efficient form of self-punishment. Whatever your excuse for writing tens of thousands of words of lies, you might like the series of short podcasts I recorded at the Free Word Centre with The Literary Consultancy, on editing your novel. The first one came out today. Listen here:
